Mack Motorwerks performs brake repair and installation at 4522 Irvington Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32210, for European, luxury and exotic vehicles. Services include brake pad and rotor replacement, brake fluid exchange, caliper service and brake system inspection. Call 904-906-4628 or schedule online, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Replace brake pads when the friction material is worn near its minimum thickness, when the wear sensor triggers a dashboard warning, or when you hear squealing or grinding. Many European vehicles use electronic pad wear sensors rather than mechanical squealers. Pulsation when braking, a soft pedal, or longer stopping distances also warrant an inspection.
There is no fixed mileage: pad life depends on driving style, vehicle weight and traffic. Stop-and-go Jacksonville driving and performance vehicles wear pads faster. We measure remaining pad thickness at every service visit and tell you how much life is left, so replacement is planned rather than an emergency.
The cost depends on the vehicle, whether rotors also need replacement, and whether the system uses standard or high-performance components, which is why we inspect and measure before quoting. Carbon-ceramic and performance brake systems on exotics cost considerably more than standard setups. We provide a firm estimate before we begin.
Yes. We service high-performance brake systems, including carbon-ceramic setups found on exotic and performance vehicles, which require specific handling and procedures to preserve stopping performance. We also perform brake fluid exchanges, which matter more on performance cars because moisture in the fluid lowers its boiling point and causes fade.

Squealing often means the pads are worn to their wear indicator or that there is glazing or debris on the pad and rotor surfaces. Grinding usually means the friction material is gone and metal is contacting the rotor, which damages rotors quickly and increases stopping distance. Grinding should be inspected immediately.
Vibration or pulsation under braking generally indicates rotor thickness variation or runout, often from uneven pad deposits or heat cycling, and it can also stem from worn suspension components or a sticking caliper. We measure the rotors and inspect the suspension so the correct repair is performed the first time.
It depends on measured rotor thickness and surface condition, not a blanket rule. If the rotors are within specification and in good condition, pads alone can be replaced; if they are near minimum thickness, warped or heavily scored, new pads on old rotors will vibrate and wear prematurely. We measure and show you the readings.
Yes. Brake fluid exchange is part of proper brake maintenance and most European manufacturers specify it every two years. Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time, which lowers its boiling point and can cause a soft pedal or brake fade under hard use, a real concern in Florida humidity and on performance vehicles.
